I have read through this article and it is accurate. If I could put it into words "beautiful" would best describe this article. The truth is the truth, however we will still get people who are in  defense mode and accuse you as being judgmental. The reason for proclaiming your judgmental only testifies of the position of compromise that we have taken as a people. To answer your question I would submit, the reason for the church promoting rap the same way as the world, is because we have not been completely delivered from the spirit of the world.

My question is what is the resolution? I realize my previous statement however there maybe some who have a different view or maybe you have a different view.

In My Opinion:  These people are not Christian at all!

The reason those people promote rap/r&b and hip hop in the church the same way as the streets is because 'they are not the church.'

  They're confused....

Even Jesus had to turn over the tables of the 'money changers' in the church. So smile, , He's got you covered.

People are still making God's house a den of thieves even today. So, we as real Christians must not bow down to or condone Satan's attack on the church. We must say goodbye to Satan's ways and separate ourselves from doing what they do. It's called being Sanctified, set apart. Light's on now.

The only way to combat Satan's attack on the church is to first recognize that 'it's Satan,' and he's on attack.  He's sneaky and tricky, and dresses as an angel of light. But if he looks like the world, smells like the world, dresses like the world, thinks like the world, then chances are: it's the world.

Your must first identify your enemy before you can develop a strategy to fight that enemy. If some people in the church don't recognize that it's just the devil, they'll never be able to properly fight and defeat that devil.

You have to watch Satan too... understand his strategy, then fight back. Demonstrate to those around you what it means to truly be a Christian by not doing the thing they do, but by obeying the Word and the Word only.

Word of advice, don't do as they do, give God your whole entire day on a daily basis. You'll be happier...  and let the dead bury their dead.

All you need for a successful Relationship.....A relationship not well-defined is like two people winking to each other in the dark, only to come into the light with the expectation that they got other’s message. God has made provision for friendship between guys and ladies on the foundation of PURITY. However, failure to properly define any relationship whereby you can operate in unity of spirit, may give room to assumptions and distortion which unfortunately have marred friendship between the opposite sex in the Church today.

An undefined relationship is a dangerous relationship that has numerous disadvantages. It is unwise to remain in a relationship that has no definition. Assumption is the lowest level of knowledge; so avoid assumption and get a clear definition.

Working without a job description can be very frustrating and so also is an undefined relationship. DEFINE IT SO AS NOT TO BE CONFINED!

Hello There, i'm new to the messageboard and I know i'm almost a year late (see date of pervious posting) but I do have a question.

I read the article and do understand where you're coming from in regards to the way "Holy Hip Hop" is presented. When I read your conclusion, I also understand why you came to that conclusion. But, (there's always a but, isn't there), my background - before I became saved was very musically inclined. I liked literally all genre of music (Rock, Garage, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, African, Latin, Classical, Country, Soul, etc.)... as I said, literally all kinds.

So, if I was to come to the same conclusion as you did with hip hop, with all of the rest of the other genres of music (R&B for example), I wouldn't be able to worship God musically. Every song I sing in church (or should I say, the way it's sung), I can easily identify to certain music that I used to listen to before I became saved. Even raising my hands to God reminds me of a lot of worldly videos and things like that. Most christian r&b/soul artists, present themselves as worldly artists do. The only difference is the lyrics.

When I started following Jesus, I got rid of every last one of my music collection. For months I had nothing to listen to. I couldn't remember church songs yet. I couldn't afford to buy any christian cds. And God dealt with me about downloading from the internet. The first christian music I heard was a Cross Movement cd. Someone let me borrow it. That cd helped me through a lot of struggles as it ministered to me through spiritual hymns. God actually spoke to me through a lot of "holy hip hop" music.

Now, as i've said... I fully understand where you are coming from in your argument. My question is - following through with your conclusion, should I cut off all forms of worldly influence by not listening to Kirk Franklin, Virtue, Trinite 5:7, Papa San, Stitchie, Michael W. Smith, any of the Winans, Fred Hammond, The Maranatha Singers, Darlene Zschech, etc. (just a very very small list - I didn't even touch most genres)?

Should I refrain from lifting my hand/arms to the Lord because its constantly done at worldly concerts (for example)?

Should I not follow Paul's example and be all things to all people? Not necessarily doing what they are doing but trying to identify with them as much as possible?

Should I not dance in rejoicing for the Lord as David did because the world dances their nasty dances (dancing is something my church frowns upon because of this exact reason)?

Your article can be used to speak of all genre of gospel music.

When I first turned to the Lord - this was (among other things) a stumbling block to me. Should the church cease from doing what it's doing because of my weak conscience?

I'm starting to ramble on.... Anyway... just thought i'd add my 2 cents/pence lol.
